Initially considering a move to the corporate side of the food industry, she realized a degree was necessary to create recipes. Life took a different turn, leading her to change jobs. Her passion for cooking was reignited when her fiancé introduced her to the TV show “The Bear.” Inspired by the show and encouraged by her fiancé's brother, a Helms College graduate, Ashleigh enrolled in the culinary program. Reflecting on her time at Helms, she fondly remembers the Gala during her first quarter. Despite being new to Knife Skills, she and her classmates prepared food for the event, earning praise and enjoying the camaraderie and celebration. Ashleigh is now training as the assistant general manager at Tenmii Japanese Eatery in Macon, a role that promises a bright future.
