Augusta, GA – October 17, 2023 — A dedication ceremony for the Alice and John David Lab & Lecture Hall will be held on Tuesday, October 24, 2023. The ceremony will begin at 6 p.m. at Helms College's School of Health Services.
Alice and John David are highly respected members of the Augusta community, known for their philanthropic activities, generosity, and service to the community. Dr. Alice David is a distinguished oncologist and hematologist renowned for her exceptional ability to provide compassionate care while incorporating evidence-based cancer management. John is a successful singer, songwriter, musician, and performing artist and has also excelled in his career as a volunteer board and executive leader.
“The Davids serve as remarkable role models, embodying qualities such as grace, character, passion, and selflessness in both their words and actions,” says James K. Stiff, CEO of Goodwill Industries of Middle Georgia and the CSRA. “They inspire and motivate those around them through their humility and leadership and use their personal and professional talents, skills, and resources to make a positive impact both locally and globally. With their generous gift to the School of Health Services at Helms College, they aim to provide students with hands-on training opportunities that will prepare them to fill specific job gaps in Augusta and beyond.”
The Alice and John David Lab and Lecture Hall dedication will launch Phase III B of Goodwill’s Hands Up Campaign, a comprehensive fundraising initiative to enhance and expand Helms College’s education and career services and applied learning enterprises.
