Kelly McWilliams, Recruiter and Content Marketing Manager at Helms College.
This Fall, Helms College will attend Probe for the first time in addition to regional college fairs. What is Probe you may ask? Probe is an annual program of college fairs and workshops that are held throughout the state of Georgia, managed by the Georgia Education Articulation Committee. Its sole mission is to disseminate information and stimulate interest in post-secondary education for Georgia students. Hundreds of colleges from across the nation attend Probe each year to reach thousands of Georgia high school juniors and seniors. Much like a presentation at a World’s Fair, Helms College is showcasing itself at Probe for the first time as an attainable and unique option for students in the wider market.
I attended the Forsyth County Probe Fair on Sept. 8 to kick off our entrance into the Probe world and also the Atlanta Counselor Workshop and Gwinnett South Probe Fair on Sept. 14. I had students tell me that it was like fate that we seemed to have exactly what they were looking for. I am learning too about what information to present to fair-goers in a hurry, how to best set up for each event, and what other institutions do well that we can emulate. In summary, I would say our coming out into the Probe college fair world is a success so far. Come experience a Probe fair for yourself.
