Helms College is excited to announce the upcoming graduation ceremonies for its Augusta and Macon campuses, each featuring inspiring keynote speakers who embody Dr. Edgar J. Helms’ values of leadership, community service, and personal excellence.
Augusta Graduation - Featuring Dr. Robert L. Williams
The Augusta graduation ceremony will take place on August 10, 2024, at 11:00 AM at the Snelling Conference Center. This event will honor the accomplishments of graduates from various programs, including Culinary Arts, Hospitality, and Health Services.
Dr. Robert L. Williams, President and CEO of Miracle Making Ministries , will serve as the keynote speaker. Dr. Williams has dedicated over 30 years to transforming communities through initiatives like inner-city revitalization, literacy programs, and medical missions. Under his leadership, Miracle Making Ministries has raised and managed over $10 million to support both local and global initiatives. Dr. Williams' dedication to education, service, and leadership has made a lasting impact on countless lives, making him a fitting speaker for this momentous occasion.
Helms College President James K. Stiff will also address the graduates, commending their hard work and dedication. “Having Dr. Williams as our keynote speaker adds a special significance to this ceremony as he embodies the values of service, leadership, and commitment that we strive to instill in our Helms College students,” said President Stiff.
Macon Graduation - Featuring Kristine Furtaw
The Macon graduation ceremony will be held on August 13, 2024, at 6:30 PM at the Anderson Conference Center. Graduates from programs including Culinary Arts, Hospitality, and HVAC/R will be celebrated for their perseverance and achievements.
Kristine Furtaw, Senior Vice President for Education Operations at Helms College, will deliver the keynote address. With over 25 years of experience in education, Furtaw has been instrumental in shaping the educational landscape at Helms College. Her extensive background includes leadership roles such as President of Arizona College of Nursing and Regional Vice President at Ross Education, where she significantly expanded educational programs across multiple states. Furtaw’s commitment to student success and educational excellence will undoubtedly inspire the graduates as they embark on their next journey.
President James K. Stiff will also speak at the Macon ceremony, highlighting the importance of this milestone for the graduates. "Graduation marks a pivotal moment in our students' lives, and we are thrilled to have Kristine Furtaw share her insights and wisdom with our graduates," said President Stiff.
